The idea of it vs. it.

The idea of it vs. it.

For the people who spend more time in their imagination, daydreaming, than in reality. Who build worlds and universes with—and in—their minds.

It can be your dream job, relationship, house—whatever you dream of.

There’s often a discrepancy between how you think you’ll feel and how you actually feel when you have it. Between how it would look in your mind and how it shows up in reality.

We tend to overemphasize the good parts and dismiss the rest—the day-to-day realities these things entail—and we might be met with disappointment.

We confuse the image of it with the actual thing.

I felt this way when I got the title, the relationship, the house.
Shouldn’t I be full of happiness and expansion?

My mind is full of romance, ideas, sensuality. Drafts, to-do lists, project plans.

We make so many plans.

I know my dreams and core values won’t budge.
But I’m letting go. I’m letting myself be surprised.
I’m giving myself wiggle room—space to change my mind.
Space for things to unfold differently than I had pictured.

Because the steps and actions to get there will be entirely different than what you imagined.

It doesn’t mean you won’t get exactly what you’re here for.
