Kili Entry 1 - The Girls

The girls behaved as a single unit for a week.

Pam and Béa were lifelines for me and Chloé, that were on the anxious side. They were not scared and, calm and strong presences to be around.

As I summitted I would collapse to the ground and take many breaks. One per hour, then one per 30 minutes, then every 15 minutes. At the end at each breath and step. Pam told me many times “We are almost there” knowing I didn’t understand anything and that we were in fact not close at all. She spoke to me in a direct way “Stand up woman”, I only listened to the voices.

We walked together every day. Cared for each other when one was sick or could not locate their electrolytes, battery, or Ibuprofen (probably me). We started the final push together, separated, and met at the top.

Je vous aimes!
