Yoga to Make the Mind Flexible
When we think of Yoga, most think of the postures (Asanas).
But Yoga if first and foremost not for the postures nor the body.
A lot of people think of Yoga as a means of getting or being more flexible.
But Yoga helps to make the mind more flexible through the physical practice.
As you move your body through the asanas, you lubricate your spine and its parts.
Flowing removes mental blockages that physically harden with time like judgment, fear, stubborness, laziness.
When you don’t want to do it, when you don’t want to go further, when you feel like cutting corners and going quickly. When you don’t want to feel.
Yes, you can get more flexible, but you will also become more open, open-minded.
I just finished a month Yoga intensive with my teacher. He says everyone including himself is by default “lazy”. As you start teaching you notice students not doing what you are instructing. Did they hear my cues? Yes, they definitely did they just decide not to do it. When I take on the student role I am the same. I learned the other day at work that even ChatGpt will do the bare minimum unless prompted several times for a list of criteria. Even AI, will cut corners! My teacher says someone’s aura cannot glow if they do not move their body.
Month intensive sessions are for sure when I feel my best physically, and simultaneously mentally.
